I CLAUDIUS is a masterpiece, both as a novel and a TV series. I've got it on VHS, bought in London, long ago. As soon as possible I'll buy it on DVD, complete version, with all the extras available. I lectured about it in the university too.
All that said, it looks like I'm qualified to consider this particular scene one of the most impressive in the whole work.
